Good studying tip. Many children need to "feel" words as they learn them. Have sand, rice, pudding, etc. on hand. As the children study the dolch words, have them spell the words, as they are saying the word over and over, in the rice or sand. Put the pudding, dish soap, paint, etc. in plastic baggies for them to spell on. Wiki Sticks work well for this activity, also. My third grade students work with their spelling words in the same way mentioned above.

Play Travel. Use your sight words. Have 2 children stand together. The first one to say the word get to "travel." This means they move on to the next child. It's similar to "Around the World." Great for working on recognition speed.
